WATCH: Was This Disrespectful to America? Women's Soccer Player Tosses US Flag to the Ground

While United States Women's National Team celebrated their 2019 FIFA World Cup win, one of the players tossed the American flag to the ground. As soon as it happened you can see another player charging into the frame and picking up the flag as quickly as possible.

This team has led into controversy by team captain Megan Rapinoe. She took the Colin Kaepernick approach and decided to kneel during the national anthem.

Rapinoe was the leader when it comes to kneeling during the anthem in support of Kaepernick. “Being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties,” said in 2016 about the decisions.

Also, Rapinoe said, "I'm not going to the f*cking White House," when asked about a potential visit after the United States won the World Cup, were they to do so.

Special Agent Jonathon Gilliam was disgusted by the act. He tweeted, "You should be disturbed by this unpatriotic narcissistic behavior. @mPinoe is neither a hero or a role model. I rewound and watched the entire celebration on the field. Rapinoe didn’t want anything to do with an #Americanflag before she stomped it. #repulsive"

Denis McAllister had an interesting take on the situation:

The flag and the anthem are two things many Americans take very seriously. The US Women's National Team has decided not to follow suit.
